This minimally-invasive treatment uses threads made of Polydioxanone (PDO) and introduce them into the subcutaneous layer of the skin. (PDO is chemically similar to sugar, which is why they’re often referred to as “sugar threads.”) This process stimulates new collagen growth which is beneficial for skin- lifting and rejuvenating effects.
PDO threads are made of dissolvable monofilament sutures that have long been used by surgeons for surgical procedures.
